KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise daily earthwork operations, including excavation, leveling, backfilling, and compaction.
- Coordinate and direct equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure proper use of machinery (e.g., bulldozers, excavators, graders, compactors, tipper trucks).
- Interpret project drawings, benchmarks, and grade stakes for site leveling.
- Maintain alignment with project timelines and productivity targets.
- Monitor compaction and moisture levels to meet soil density requirements.
- Communicate and report site progress to the Site Engineer.
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure the use of PPE by all team members.
- Identify and resolve issues related to terrain, drainage, or soil conditions.
- Maintain daily activity logs, attendance, and equipment usage records.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or vocational certificate in civil works or construction.
- Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in earthworks, especially in urban road projects.
- Strong understanding of cut-and-fill operations, grading techniques, and soil compaction.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and levels.
- Strong leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Outdoor site-based role; exposed to heavy machinery, dust, noise, and varying weather.
- May require extended hours during peak operations.
